The suite also includes firewalls, a data shredder and scheduled tools for cleaning the system. It will update drivers automatically, and has anti-tracking functions and even gives you access to tech support in just one click.
Although there are numerous settings and options, the interface of the program is simple to use and understand. Most things are controlled by a large button, switch or checkmark, which is a good thing for ergonomics. The software is free and accessible for both Windows and Mac.
The antivirus itself does a decent job of protecting your computer from malware. Its real-time detection can detect more than 90% of threats and didn’t produce false positives in my tests. It’s not as robust in level of protection as other products in terms of the scanning of files and heuristics.
360 Total Security comes with several security and maintenance options. A VPN is included in the premium version. Its heuristic engine detects malware by examining a program’s behavior, which is quite helpful in cases where the threat is new and does not have a signature. It also includes the ability to clean up and other tune-up tools that help improve the performance of PCs.
